Apple MAC OS X 10.12.x Sierra, 10.11.x El Capitan Drivers
and 10.10.x Yosemite
Mediatek Inc. and Realtek Semiconductor Corp. are two of the major chipset suppliers on Wi-Fi devices.
Ralink Chipset RT3x7x
Realtek Chipset RTL8188SU/ RT8188RU/ RT8188CUS/ RT8192RU
Our chipset supplier, Mediatek Inc, is supporting MAC OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
Another chipset Realtek RTL8188SU that we don't use is supporting MAC OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
We suppose that all devices using the same chipset now face the same driver pending issue.
Meanwhile, someone came up with a patch driver but they advise the users not to update OS to 10.10.2 otherwise it might not be able to scan or connect to networks, or even crashing the computer if the USB cable is unplugged before the system is shutdown.
However, we believe that a more pragmatic solution is to setup a Catch n Share Repeater upgradable from the 2200mW NextG USB-Yagi TurboTenna that all 2.4GHz Wi-Fi devices can get on irrespective of the Operating System (OS) they use. In other words, your Yosemite Apple computer should be able to work with the Catch&Share repeater totally unwire - a benefit that allows you to move around without the constraint of a physical USB cable. Plus, your other smart gadgets such as the iphone, ipad, Windows and Android devices are able to get on too.
